On May 14th, the Grossdeutschland regiment was attached to the 1st Panzer Division to lead the crossing of the Meuse River at Sedan. Other crossings attempted by the 2nd and 10th Panzer Divisions did not go well as they tried to fend off armored assaults by the French. The Grossdeutschland was ordered to counterattack the French tanks of the 3rd Armored Division spotted at the nearby town of Bulson.
Objectives: Your company will converge on the village and destroy all enemy armor that opposes it. One platoon will approach the village from the north, one platoon will swing south then move west. Your platoon will move southwest to the objective, using the road as a guideline. Make sure to use the depressions around the village for cover and a safe approach path. Do not advance hastily; do not outstrip the other platoons as you approach the village. Air support has been promised. You will be facing at least a company of armor, plus a detachment of Armored Cars.
